Relik Electric is a specialist electric vehicle conversion workshop based in Woodchurch, Kent. The company converts classic petrol-powered cars to fully electric drivetrains — retaining the vehicle's original body, character, and identity while replacing the combustion powertrain with a modern, engineered electric system.
The workshop accepts vehicles from owners across the United Kingdom. Conversions range from £25,000 to £100,000 depending on the vehicle, specification, and any supporting restoration work.
An EV conversion involves removing a vehicle's original internal combustion engine, fuel system, and associated components, then installing an electric motor, battery pack, power electronics, and control systems in their place. The finished vehicle looks and drives like the original — but is powered entirely by electricity.
Each conversion is bespoke. There is no standard kit or off-the-shelf solution. Component selection, battery sizing, motor choice, and drivetrain integration are all determined by the specific car and how it will be used.
Relik Electric has carried out conversions on a range of well-known classic vehicles, including:
Other makes and models are assessed on enquiry. The starting point is always the condition of the original chassis and the owner's intended use for the finished vehicle.
Relik Electric works across both low-voltage and high-voltage conversion architectures. Capabilities include:
Bodywork, welding, restoration, and interior trim can also be carried out at the same site, meaning a full vehicle build can be completed under one roof.
Relik Electric's conversions range from approximately £25,000 to £100,000. The lower end covers a well-specified conversion on a lighter, simpler classic vehicle. The upper end reflects a high-voltage, high-capacity build on a heavier vehicle with full fast-charge capability and restoration work included.
The main cost drivers are battery capacity, motor output, fast-charge specification, and the condition of the vehicle on arrival. See the dedicated EV conversion cost guide for a full breakdown.
Every project is quoted individually with a full itemised breakdown before any work begins.

Every build follows a structured eight-stage process: initial enquiry, vehicle assessment, drivetrain specification and quote, ICE removal, fabrication and installation, wiring and integration, road testing, and handover with full documentation. See the full process explained for detail on each stage.
Relik Electric is registered in England and Wales (Company No. 13026410) and operates from a dedicated workshop in Woodchurch, Kent. The team includes auto electricians and mechanical engineers with direct experience in EV drivetrain systems. The workshop is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Vehicles from outside Kent are accepted — owners arrange transport of the vehicle to the Woodchurch site at the start of the project. See the UK-wide service page for more detail.
